Varilite™ Laser :
Dr. de Ramon utilizes the Varilite Laser System which allows him to be able to treat patients to correct sun damage, redness, rosacea, broken blood vessels (spider veins), brown (liver or age) spots, and skin tone and texture. These treatments require no down time and most patients experience minimal discomfort. A spot treatment for areas such as cheeks or forehead takes about 15 minutes, while a full face treatment may be scheduled in 30 minute increments for patient comfort. Results are often seen after one treatment, although most patients benefit from 3 or more treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This sophisticated laser allows Dr. de Ramon unparalleled flexibility in treating a large variety of skin conditions by having two laser frequencies as his disposal. In addition to multiple hand pieces producing various spot sizes for each of these laser frequencies, this device incorporates a computer pattern generator (CPG) delivery system for treating large areas. Prolite™ Skin Rejuvenation :
Skin Rejuvenation Dr. de Ramon offers photo-facials and has been doing so since 2003. Photo-facials are similar to laser but instead use broad band light. A series of 3-5 treatments about 4 weeks apart will shrink dilated pores, even out skin tone, improve skin texture, diminish redness/rosacea/spider veins, diminish or eliminate age spots, and even mildly improve fine lines. It produces mild redness which usually fades in 1-3 hours and make-up may be reapplied right away. This is a "no down-time" treatment.
Laser Scar Treatment :
Any surgery or accident which breaks the surface layers of the skin can cause a scar. Unfortunately, for some patients, these scars can become itchy, red and raised or simply unattractive in appearance. Dr. de Ramon can use the VariliteT Laser System or the ProLiteT IPL system to treat scars on any area of the body. Scars usually flatten, soften, become less red, and look better overall after one treatment, although many patients require 2-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
Most insurance companies do not cover any laser treatments at all since they are not indicated as being medically necessary. If you are unsure of this, you may call your insurance company to ask if laser treatments are a covered benefit of your health plan.
